I believe that teaching is not simply a job - it is a calling.
As an educator, I feel it is my solemn duty to provide the best education to my students and the best support to their parents.
By following closely to the MCPS Standards for Professional Development, I am working hard to ensure that I am growing and
improving as a teacher on a daily basis.
I began working for Montgomery County Public Schools in
2004 as a substitute teacher. While I found the job incredibly rewarding, I knew my place was in the classroom on a
permanent basis. I got this chance in 2005 when I became a Special Education Paraeducator. It was an incredible
opportunity to work closely with students with special needs, and I cherished every moment of it. However, the more
I worked with my students, the more I knew I wanted to teach Special Education full time. In 2007 I was accepted into
the George Washington University Millennium Teachers 2000 Paraeducator program. I began my first year teaching in 2008.
Since completing my graduate program, I have continued to work within
MCPS in varying capacities as a Paraeducator. I am excited to return to teaching.
