Standard VI: Teachers exhibit a high degree of professionalism

MCPS: Soliciting and using feedback from students/families/supervisors/coaches; reflecting on feedback and modifying instruction accordingly.

I am consistently looking for ways to improve myself as a teacher.  I have sought guidance and support from numerous sources - both Assistant Principals, the English RT, the head of the Special Education department, the staff development teacher, my school based mentor, my university supervisor and MCPS coach.  I have listened to their suggestions, heeded their advice and made the modifications necessary to improve my lessons and better teach my students.

D4: Communicating with parents or guardians about student learning

I keep in contact with the parents of my students through phone calls, emails and Edline.  I find their input and support invaluable to my teaching, and call on them often for suggestions, support, or just updates.
